Mountain Gorilla Safaris
in Rwanda
|
Mountain gorillas (Gorilla gorilla beringei) are critically endangered and their survival continues to be threatened by extensive habitat loss, poaching and human diseases. A census in 2004 put their total population at just 380 individuals remaining in 30 social groups.
Populations still remain in the tropical
montane forests of Rwanda and Uganda's Virunga
mountains. Rwanda's more easily accessible
Parc des Volcans remains the preferred option if your main
interest is to go trekking to see these gentle giants.
If you would like to add a Rwanda Mountain
Gorilla Trek to the beginning or end of your Kenya or Tanzania
Safari, please contact
us. We recommend 4 to 5 days at the start or end
of your safari.
See you on Safari...
